7-Eleven Run Now on its 7th year!

Are your kicks ready for the much anticipated 7-Eleven Fun Run 2019? The 7-Eleven Run 2019 has been officially launched and is now on its 7th year. Happening simultaneously in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, the exciting event will happen on February 3, 2019 and is open for both professional and recreational runners. The race was first held simultaneously in 3 locations across the country last 2018, with over 25,000 runners participating.  This year, it is expected to become even bigger, better and more exciting. Runners can expect to see new race categories, a chance to compete in an international Asian marathon, and have the opportunity to win Php500,000 cash. The race in Luzon will kick off in Filinvest City, Alabang.  The Visayas leg will be at Cebu Business Park while the Mindanao Leg will be in SM City Davao. Licealiz Brings Kilusang Kontra Kuto Year 3

Kilusang Kontra Kuto, a coalition of head lice prevention experts and advocates is now on its  3rd year in its mission to create a kuto-free Philippines. The group is led by Lamoiyan Corporation’s Licealiz with the help of Department of Education (DepEd), UP Manila College of Public Health, Mommy Bloggers Philippines, and Drugstores Association of the Philippines. This year, to create a greater and wider impact, the team is visiting different schools in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao to educate the public in eliminating ‘kuto’ or head lice problem which ranks as the 2nd most common health problem in public schools in the country next to tooth decay.   Being a parent back in the day was totally different and more complicated compared to being one today. Thus, there are some things that are not applicable to my children even if age-old tales tell me that they were effective parenting techniques in the past. For example, allowing kids to speak out their mind freely was not a common practice before. In my time, we practiced maximum restraint in speaking with elders. No raising of voices, you should be talking only when asked, etc.etc. Today, kids are more open and it is much easier for them to express themselves that without proper guidance, would lead to disrespecting other people or persons of authority like their own parents and teachers.
