AMDABiDSS-Health launched to enhance disease surveillance in Mindanao

In an effort to support local government units and their corresponding health systems and agencies in Mindanao, Malayan Colleges Mindanao, in cooperation with the University of the Philippines – Mindanao, have launched the Center for Applied Modeling, Data Analytics and Bioinformatics for Decision Support Systems in Health (AMDABiDSS-Health). The virtual launch, which representatives from various universities, organizations, and the DOH attended, promoted a deeper collaboration between the academe and public policymakers and leaders.  AMDABiDSS-Health is the first-ever niche research center in Mindanao that utilizes interdisciplinary quantitative approaches to improve the disease surveillance and mitigation techniques of COVID-19 in the area.  Scientific research focused on health care has been vital in addressing the effects of the pandemic worldwide. Malayan Colleges Mindanao is blended learning-ready for school reopening

Malayan Colleges Mindanao, A Mapúa School, is making preparations for the reopening of campus for limited face-to-face classes later this year or early next year. This follows the release of separate Joint Memorandum Circulars (JMC) of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Department of Education (DepEd) with the Department of Health (DOH), namely, CHED-DOH JMC 2021-001 and DepEd-DOH JMC No. 001 s.2021, respectively. Based on CHED-DOH’s JMC 2021-001, Engineering, HRM, Tourism, and Marine Transportation programs have been approved for limited face-to-face classes. Meanwhile, based on DepEd- DOH JMC No. 001 s.2021, pilot face-to-face classes will start on November 15, 2021. “MCM is in the process of adjusting its physical plant and facilities (campus, laboratories, library, etc.) [to follow] safety and health protocols [and] to comply with CHED, DepEd, and DOH’s Joint Memorandum Circulars.” shared Engr. Kilusang Kontra Kuto by Licealiz now on its 4th year

It was about at this time last year when I participated in Kilusang Kontra Kuto (KKK) led by Licealiz Head Lice Treatment Shampoo. We went to a public elementary school at the northern part of Davao City in Toril for a shampooing activity and informative discussion in preventing/fighting against head lice or nits (kuto) infestation . Now, on KKK’s 4th year, Lamoiyan Corporation continues its advocacy for a kuto-free Philippines with an aim to shampoo  around 6,000 students in 30 schools all over the Philippines. It has once again partnered with the Dept. of Education (DepEd), Drugstore Associations of the Phils (DSAP) and Mommy Bloggers Philippines.
