In a momentous collaboration, the Coordinating Council of Private Educational Associations (COCOPEA), Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP), and Rex Education, in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd), have joined forces to launch the COCOPEA–CEAP–REX MATATAG Curriculum Regional Run. Nestlé & DepEd Davao Region collab to promote nutrition education to over 1M students

MOA signing marks implementation of Nestlé Wellness Campus for SY 2023-2024 Nestlé Philippines and the Department of Education (DepEd) in the Davao Region recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) that solidifies their partnership on nutrition education to teach healthy habits to over a million elementary and high school students in public schools in the region. This will be implemented under the Nestlé Wellness Campus, the nutrition education advocacy program of Nestlé Philippines made possible through the support of DepEd. The Nestlé Wellness Campus was initially implemented in 2013 in four regions across the Philippines. It has since expanded to seven regions and was adopted by the DepEd Davao Region in School Year 2021-2022. Malayan Colleges Mindanao has been rejuvenated and renamed as Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao (Mapúa MCM), made all the more official with the school’s unveiling of its rebranded Façade on April 27, 2023.  The announcement was made by Dr. Dodjie S. Maestrecampo, Mapúa MCM president during the recent unveiling of the school’s new logo on the Davao campus.  “Our new name, Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao, aptly represents our competencies, focus, and vision. AMDABiDSS-Health launched to enhance disease surveillance in Mindanao

In an effort to support local government units and their corresponding health systems and agencies in Mindanao, Malayan Colleges Mindanao, in cooperation with the University of the Philippines – Mindanao, have launched the Center for Applied Modeling, Data Analytics and Bioinformatics for Decision Support Systems in Health (AMDABiDSS-Health). The virtual launch, which representatives from various universities, organizations, and the DOH attended, promoted a deeper collaboration between the academe and public policymakers and leaders.  AMDABiDSS-Health is the first-ever niche research center in Mindanao that utilizes interdisciplinary quantitative approaches to improve the disease surveillance and mitigation techniques of COVID-19 in the area.  Scientific research focused on health care has been vital in addressing the effects of the pandemic worldwide. Malayan Colleges Mindanao is blended learning-ready for school reopening

Malayan Colleges Mindanao, A Mapúa School, is making preparations for the reopening of campus for limited face-to-face classes later this year or early next year. This follows the release of separate Joint Memorandum Circulars (JMC) of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Department of Education (DepEd) with the Department of Health (DOH), namely, CHED-DOH JMC 2021-001 and DepEd-DOH JMC No. 001 s.2021, respectively. Based on CHED-DOH’s JMC 2021-001, Engineering, HRM, Tourism, and Marine Transportation programs have been approved for limited face-to-face classes. Globe helps over 100 Grade 1 pupils, teachers cope with distance learning

Distance learning has become a way of life in this new normal, and Globe continues to support initiatives that will help ease the struggle of over 100 Grade 1 pupils, their parents and teachers in the absence of face-to-face classes. Globe has partnered with Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI), ABS-CBN, and Mary’s Way Foundation through the Big Blue Hearts Campaign to enable learning with the help of free internet connection. Under the project, KCFI, ABS-CBN and Mary’s Way Foundation were able to successfully raise funds to equip 102 students and teachers of Balibago Elementary School and Sta.
