Remembering my childhood days, I used to have a lot of little round scars on my legs due to insect bites, and of course from the wounds one would usually get as a kid ( I was super clumsy then!) . And before, I only had the good old sebo de macho (skin emollient known to erase scars) to cling to, which I religiously applied on these scars. The Search for the Happiest Pinoy 2015, a nationwide campaign of Cebuana Lhuillier is now currently accepting nominations. This was announced when I attended the Davao roadshow earlier this month. Big prizes are at stake for the winners which will be announced this June. The Happiest Pinoy grand winner gets 1 Million pesos in cash while nine (9) runners-up will get ₱50,000 each. There will also be 2 Special Awards given (chosen from the top 10 finalists): the Happiest Student award and the Happiest Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) award. They will receive 25,000 pesos each. What started out as an idea to create shirts for bookworms, has finally marked its 2.5K followers for The Dream Shirt after a year of operating online. With more and more fangirls and fanboys finding out about the online shop, The Dream Shirt is planning to have its relaunch come 2015, which includes creating a line for locally published books, releasing more collections, and a collaboration giveaway with Fandom Trinkets PH. The Dream Shirt is an online shop that offers made-to-order shirts, with prints that features quotes and designs based on different books. Auditions in Davao city are now ongoing at NCCC Mall and select schools and barangays. RisingStars Philippines and Kapatid Network TV5, in cooperation with Jumpstart Productions, have joined forces to launch a new singing and reality TV talent search that would embark on a nationwide search for the best-of-the-best singing talents all over the Philippines to represent their home city or province. GrabTaxi’s Investment Rises to US$ 90 million in 12 months

With Strong Focus on Driver-Passenger Experience GrabTaxi, Southeast Asia’s leading taxi-booking mobile phone app, has completed its Series C round of financing, one of the largest rounds in the history of Southeast Asia. The company has raised a total of approximately US$90 million of venture capitalist funding and loans since within 12 months. The Series C round was led by US-based Tiger Global Management. New investor Hillhouse Capital Management also joined the round with existing investors Vertex Venture Holdings, GGV Capital and Qunar (NASDAQ: QUNR)i. The GrabTaxi mobile app has been downloaded onto more than 2.1 million mobile devices, with more than 400,000 active monthly users in over 17 cities in six countries.
