Due to insistent public demand for one of its biggest promotions to date, Globe Telecom is extending its Free Facebook offer available to its over 36 million subscribers until February 14, 2014, allowing users to post, like, comment, chat, add friends, upload photos, and share posts without the need for Wi-Fi.
Globe collaborated with Facebook last year to offer its postpaid, prepaid, and TM subscribers access to the leading social networking site on mobile at zero data charges, alongside first-of-its-kind mobile innovations that address fear of mobile browsing, making the telco’s Free Facebook offer a world-first.
Among these customer experience innovations include accessibility on feature phones and smartphones across all Facebook mobile platforms whether via the Facebook app or Facebook’s mobile site m.facebook.com.
Customers are also guaranteed of no billshock or “nakaw load” as they will be notified if they will incur data charges once a link that leads out of Facebook is clicked.
For a seamless experience, subscribers can also enjoy a one-click registration to the data plan of choice to continue browsing sites or links outside Facebook without having to leave the site. In the spirit of customization, recommended data plans consider a subscriber’s available prepaid balance and/or megabytes (MB) balance of existing data plan.
Finally, customers with not enough prepaid load can “loan” a 10MB data plan for only P10 which will be deducted on their succeeding top-up so they can fully explore content outside Facebook.
“Due to the overwhelming response and take-up from our subscribers, we are happy to extend Globe Free Facebook until February 14 to allow more users to enjoy an innovative, seamless, and worry-free Free Facebook experience, anytime, anywhere. As the country’s leading digital brand and preferred partner of technology leaders around the world, we hope to get more Filipinos online on their mobile devices and be part of a wonderful, connected world,” said Peter Bithos, Chief Operating Advisor of Globe.
Subscribers can dial *143# and select FREE FB or text FREEFB to 8888 to download more information or access Free Facebook. Subscribers may also go to m.facebook.com/free on the phone’s web browser or open the Facebook mobile app while on the Globe network to access Free Facebook.
Why now? When I was still there, promos such as these were non-existent! I hope the telcos here would also do the same thing… here we have to use the data and get charged for extra! No free FB, Twitter or whatsoever.. 🙂
wow! that is a great treat for globe users
This is very nice campaign for Globe subscribers, they can enjoy the social media until this 14th seems everyone loves to hang and post anything on fb.
This is a nice promo Ann, kaso I’m really so dumb when it comes to sending short number texts to activate promos like this, I’ll be totally lost in the text jungle by then… lol… This is perfect for kiddos who are phone savvy 🙂
dropping by.
Oh that is so nice of Globe to offer it for free. I am sure a lot of user will avail to this one.
what a great opportunity….am sure a lot of people will benefit with this promotion.
oh wow, that’s good to know FB use won’t be counted against data, instead of texting, you can just FB 🙂
That’s a nice marketing effort from Globe although it’s only temporary.
Too bad I’m a Sun Cellular subscriber but good thing they’ve extended until the Valentines Day! So, they must use it while it lasts. 😀
I have learned of this promotion when my SIL posted on her FB timeline thAt it was about to end. It’s a good thing they extended it. Globe had served me well when I was still in the Philippines. ITXT was a fab deal! Sending SMS abroad was even way cheaper than sending one locally. How cool!
Wow! that’s good they extended their subscription. I’m sure some consumers would be happy with it.
That’s very nice of Globe to offer free FB to their loyal subscribers. I’ve heard a lot of horror stories about how bad the service and connection of Globe. This is one way to redeem their name.
I remember this when my friend that lives in Manila told me about it. Globe is very generous indeed to keep their customers use the Facebook for free. What a great program it is 🙂 I am sure that their customers are happy and thankful 🙂
