PH among Top 100 improved internet speeds

PH is in Top 100 most improved download speeds globally

Now for some great news~~the Philippines continues to post significant improvements in both mobile and fixed download speeds, now ranked among the top 100 globally according to Ookla’s Speedtest® Global Index* February 2021 data. The Philippines currently ranked 83rd in the world on mobile, climbing 3 spots with an average mobile download speed of 26.24 Mbps vs January’s 25.77 Mbps. This is the 7th straight month which showed improved average mobile download speeds. For fixed, the Philippines rose 8 spots to 92nd place with an average fixed download speed of 38.46 Mbps vs last month’s 32.73 Mbps — reflecting 10 straight months of improvement. Globe helps over 100 Grade 1 pupils, teachers cope with distance learning

Distance learning has become a way of life in this new normal, and Globe continues to support initiatives that will help ease the struggle of over 100 Grade 1 pupils, their parents and teachers in the absence of face-to-face classes. Globe has partnered with Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI), ABS-CBN, and Mary’s Way Foundation through the Big Blue Hearts Campaign to enable learning with the help of free internet connection. Under the project, KCFI, ABS-CBN and Mary’s Way Foundation were able to successfully raise funds to equip 102 students and teachers of Balibago Elementary School and Sta. Rosa Elementary School Central 1 and 3 with Globe At Home Prepaid Wifi modems. On the other hand, Globe joined the campaign to support the beneficiaries with data load subsidies good for six months. Lamoiyan Corporation donates 1 million worth of hygiene products to DepEd VisMin

Lamoiyan Corporation, a leading manufacturer of personal hygiene and home care products in the country, has donated over one million worth of Lamoiyan products to Department of Education (DepEd) in Visayas and Mindanao as it celebrates the 5th year of Kilusang Kontra Kuto (Movement Against Head Lice) initiative. Filipina tennis prodigy and Globe Ambassador Alex Eala is seeded number 2 in the  junior girls’ tournament of the 2020 French Open at Roland Garros in Paris, France. Eala, who is returning to the Grand Slam events after the COVID-19 pandemic cancelled the US Open and Wimbledon Juniors Tournaments this year, is currently ranked 4th in the world juniors’ rankings, the highest ever so far by any Filipino tennis player.  She is also the highest ranked tennis player in Southeast Asia.
